Has your cancellation policy changed in light of COVID -19?
Officially, no…but unofficially we have until the 12th July 2020 being offering a credit for use within two years should COVID travel restrictions (Govt, sanctioned only) stop you from visiting. As of the 12th July 2020 if you are an NON South Australian our official cancellation policy will strictly stand. We really feel for our interstate friends whom are wanting to visit but cant or don’t know what restrictions will look like from one week to the next. Rest assured Stowaway isn’t going anywhere and we are ready to welcome you as soon as it is safe to do so. NOTE: South Australians, should travel into the regions be locked down in South Australia credits for your stay are still being offered.
Has Stowaway been affected by the recent bushfires on KI?
Our beautiful Stowaways are still standing, however the Lathami Conservation Park that they look over has been burned. Both The Nest and The Sleepy Hollow still have unburned vegetation and pasture in the foreground, and the sea views are actually better now as there is not so many trees hiding it. We do want to be open and transparent that you will see burned trees in the middle distance. Guests who have stayed post fire have commented that this did not impede on them loving every minute of their stay.
What is the difference between The Nest & The Sleepy Hollow?
Both of our Stowaways have the same fabulous amenities and are almost identical in layout and theme. The Nest has the panoramic views and the dramatic view when you approach, however The Sleepy hollow is more tucked away and protected from the wind. The Sleepy Hollow also has expansive sea views and great views over the Conservation park. We can 100% guarantee you will love both of the Stowaways!
We are having trouble getting on our preferred ferry or on it at all
Having to catch a ferry adds to the charm of visiting but does pose some logistical challenges, especially for more spontaneous bookings! Bookings are constantly changing for all the ferries so its pretty common to have an opening pop up if you just keep ringing Sealink or using the ‘Manage your Booking’ function on www.sealink.com.au .
Worst case scenario you can always go on standby for your desired ferry (as long as you are one of the first two cars in the standby lane you will usually get on). We personally do this all the time with quite a bit of success – number one tip is to get there at LEAST an hour before the departure time of your desired ferry. Also make sure you get your name on the standby list in the ticket office.
