Thank you for considering Stowaway Kangaroo Island for your holiday in South Australia. We look forward to making your stay a happy and relaxing one!
All rates are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Our rates are a simple flat fee all year round of $650 per night inclusive of GST, a 2-night minimum applies throughout the year, except Easter and the Christmas and New Year period, when a 3-night minimum will apply.
The owners reserve the right to amend rates should the cost of services increase beyond their control.
Bookings are confirmed only when your payment has been received and acknowledged.
A $500 bond will be payable to cover incidentals and/or property damage/loss and mini bar provisions. This pre-authorization on your credit card taken over the phone on your welcome phone call and refunded within 5 – 10 business days of your departure.
Credit Cards – We accept online payments by Visa, MasterCard and Amex. A 1.5% fee is payable on credit card payments.
Accommodation cancellation policy
For a small boutique accommodation experience like ours, cancellations can result in an empty lodges. Therefore, if you need to cancel your booking, we will only fully refund monies paid (less a $65 administration fee) as long as it is 30 days or more before your arrival, so the earlier you let us know the better.
If you cancel 30 days or less before your arrival date, no refund will be made, incurring a 100% cancellation fee of the total booking.
Date changes, are possible subject to availability and these do not incur an administration fee, if arranged 30 days before arrival.
All cancellation fees may be held in credit for 6 months for use on mutually agreed alternative dates subject to availability.
No refund can be given for non-arrival or unused nights.
No refunds can or will be given in connection with circumstances arising beyond the reasonable control of Stowaway KI i.e. flight delays by airlines/contracted charter companies/illness or client failure to appear for accommodation. No refund can be given for any unused services or early departures.
We strongly recommend the purchase of comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances – medical emergencies, cancellations, additional expenses – that may result in the cancellation of holiday bookings.
Minimum stay – We have a minimum stay of 2 nights. This helps us with the high cost of cleaning in a remote location. A minimum 3 night stay over Easter and the Christmas and New Year period will apply and is the only variation.
The lodges have been designed for couples only. Maximum of 2 paying guests at any time during your stay apply only.
The lodges are designed for adults only. Children under the age of 17 are NOT permitted.

Check in procedure
Codes for the entrance gate and door will be emailed/texted in the days leading up to your stay. You will receive a welcome phone call to make sure everything is as you expect and to do a credit card pre-authorization (bond) of $500.
Departing guests must leave the properties clean and tidy. This includes cleaning the BBQ and turning off all the lights and cooling/heating appliances. Autonomous checkout, simply close the door behind you by 11am. Remember to pay for your minibar items at stowaway.com.au/mini-bar. Failure to pay for mini bar items via the website will incur a $20 admin charge if the amount is required to be deducted from your bond. Failure to leave the Stowaways in a neat and tidy state on checkout will incur a $200 cleaning fee.
All minibar items are to be paid for. An itemised price list will be available at the minibar. Purchases must be made online at https://stowaway.com.au/mini-bar. All credit card payments online will incur a 1.5% fee. Failure to pay for your mini bar and the amount having to be deducted from your credit card will incur a $20 admin fee.
Food packages must be pre-ordered 7 days prior to your booking. This allows the owners to arrange the availability of the packages at check-in, unless otherwise arranged.
All packages have been designed to be available all year round. However, in some instances food may differ slightly from the image/description. In this case, we will replace items for similar price and quality.
Massage packages are available through a third-party. Appointments are essential, so when booking your accommodation please also advise the time and day you would like your massages. We will contact the masseuse to confirm the requested time and day, depending on their availability. They are not retrospectively available. Cancellations on the day of your massage will incur a 100% cancellation fee due to the remote location.
Our rates are inclusive of quality bed linen (pillow cases, sheets, blankets etc.), bathrobes, bath towels, hand towels, bathmats, tea towels, beach towels and luxury bathroom amenities. We also supply provisions such as tea / coffee / milk / butter / fresh bread and KI Honey. We do not supply daily servicing and a housekeeping service will be supplied for one general clean for stays of more than 5 nights.
Wi-Fi is available but there is only 1GB per stay. Internet service is available.
Dogs + pets are NOT permitted, sorry. Both Stowaway lodges are located next to a Conservation Park.
We are a non-smoking property – you may smoke outside but please pick up your cigarette butts. Smoking in the property will result in your full $500 bond not being refunded.
Guests must observe SA bushfire regulations and fire bans at all times.
Cleaning & rubbish removal
Excess cleaning charges will apply if the Stowaway’s are not left in an acceptable condition.
Condition and use of the property
The accommodations are provided in “as is” condition. Stowaway KI shall use its best efforts to ensure the operation of all amenities on the Property, such as internet access, TV or spas, saunas, fireplaces as applicable. We shall not be held responsible for such items failure to work, but will make every effort to correct any issues as reported as quickly as possible.
Guests acknowledge that use of amenities such as hot tubs, saunas, fireplaces, decks, BBQs and the like may be potentially dangerous and involve potential risks if improperly used, and such use is at the Guest’s own risk.
Loss or damage
The owners and staff accept no responsibility for loss or damage to guest property during their stay. Any damage and extras we reserve the right to charge your credit card.
In the event of an equipment breakdown, power cut, fire we may offer a replacement stay or other benefit as compensation.
